Our sister restaurant, Darryl's Wood Fired Grill, used a pig prominently in their branding and marketing materials during the mid 80's. Favorite items were the 'Love Me Tender' pig stickers, pig hats and pig bucks.
In 1988 Darryl's launched its' own brand of beer. It was produced by Gilbert Robinson, Inc., and won a silver medal in the Great American Beer Festival.
A pint, or 16oz "Pound-er", was called the "Pig Pounder" and featured a pig-faced label to symbolize Darryl's North Carolina roots.
